Greens, Bunkers and Practice Area Focus of Renovation
Williamsburg, VA –July 23, 2012– Two Rivers Country Club kicked off an extensive $1.5 million golf course renovation on July 8 with a Members’ “Bye Bye Greens” party that began the greens renovation process.
The renovation project will focus on the replacement of all green complexes to USGA specification with heat and drought resistant bent grass, updating all greenside bunkers, expansion of the golf practice areas and the replacement of bridges throughout the course.
The course will also remain open during the construction process with the use of temporary greens. It is anticipated that the new greens and other improved areas will open in April 2013.
Two Rivers has also made arrangements with a number of the area’s best courses for reciprocal play for the Two Rivers members during the renovations. In addition, incentives for potential new members have been developed to encourage interest in membership opportunities at Two Rivers Country Club.
Spence Golf, Inc. of Greensboro, N. C., which has a successful history of course renovations throughout the Mid-Atlantic states, was the contractor selected for the project.
“We are excited to begin this project and ensure that the only Fazio course in the Williamsburg area has the best greens in the area as well”, indicated Bob Lovic, Two Rivers Country Club president and Paul Treolo, project committee chairman. “Kris Spence and his team have an unparalleled reputation for excellent work quality and coming in ‘on time’ and ‘on budget’ – important components in any renovations.”
