Since 2014, the USGA's PLAY9™ program has been actively educating and rallying golfers and non-golfers alike around the concept of the nine-hole round as an important, yet simple, solution to address busy lifestyles and everyday lives. PLAY9 is critically important to the game and its health in that it promotes a time-friendly option to engage with the game. We all know that the time it takes to a complete an 18-hole round is frequently cited as a barrier to the game's participation.
In 2017, PLAY9 is deepening its commitment at the local level. The plan is to work closely with State and Regional Golf Associations and select a number of clubs to intensify awareness of, and participation in, PLAY9. In addition, the USGA continues to encourage all clubs to join in supporting and promoting PLAY9. The USGA will continue to leverage usga.org/play9 as the hub for all PLAY9 content, and actively promote PLAY9 Play Days throughout the heart of the golf season between May and October.

How you can Support Play 9
- Host a PLAY9 Play Day - either on one of the "official" PLAY9 Play Days or on any other day that may work best for you.
- Print and post the materials in the toolkit to promote PLAY9 and PLAY9 Play Days amongst your community.
- Take photos at your events, or when you PLAY9 with friends and family, and post your images on social media using the hashtag #Play9Golf.
- Encourage anyone to learn more about PLAY9 by visiting the official site usga.org/play9, or by following the USGA's social media channels on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube.
