NGCOA Virginia Annual Meeting

The NGCOA Virginia Annual Meeting was held Wednesday, September 19, 2012 at Augustine GC in Stafford, VA. The facility is managed by Raspberry Golf Management, with NGCOA VA Vice President Bob Swiger serving as host. An education session featured Grant Grayson of LeClair Ryan, the duo of Pat McGuire and David Finocchiaro of Raspberry Golf Management and a NGCOA VA panel, consisting of Mike Hatch of Acumen Golf, Steve Clark of Raspberry Golf Management, Mike Fentress of Virginia Beach Golf Management and Don Ryder of The Homestead. There were 62 attendees representing 42 different companies or clubs. Here is the agenda:

The education session featured Grant Grayson highlighting options for clubs faced with such problems as membership decline and financial restructuring. Pat McGuire and David Finocchiaro shared their experiences and expertise from their careers in merchandising with national companies and golf clubs. The panel discussed a wide spectrum of activities in the industry, including lively interaction with the audience. Following an excellent lunch, the group enjoyed a perfect day on the recently renovated Augustine course. The team of Tim Ganse (Augustine GC), Stephanie Jennings (MAPGA), Mike Aldrich (PGA of America) and Mike Hatch (Acumen) golf won the competition. Following golf, Performance Food Group hosted a fabulous beef tenderloin dinner for the participants.
