Dear Virginia Golf Enthusiast:
The Virginia Tourism Corporation is pleased to announce a new strategy for marketing golf. A new golf feature section will now be included in our signature publication, the Virginia Travel Guide, VTC’s #1 fulfillment piece with 600,000 copies mailed annually. This piece is also distributed at VTC’s 11 interstate welcome centers, in local and regional visitor centers, at consumer travel shows, and throughout Canada.
In addition, the new golf section will be promoted on VTC’s consumer website, www.Virginia.org. With 6.3 million unique visitors annually, our website is one of the top three most popular state travel websites in the country. Furthermore, the travel guide, along with your ad, will be available online via a digital version of the guide, which is heavily promoted all throughout Virginia.org. Your destination can be linked directly from your ad so that your website is only a click away.
Finally, a pocket-sized Virginia Golf Directory will be published, which will serve as a companion piece to the travel guide and will be distributed at consumer golf shows, including those in the important Toronto and Montreal markets.
We are confident that by including golf in the travel guide, more travelers will learn of Virginia’s rich golf product. The combination of the travel guide and online marketing will increase the visibility of Virginia’s golf product and result in more exposure for your course. As we initiate this new marketing effort, it is important that you update your free listing on Virginia.org.
