Get Golf Ready Programs Customized for Women Help Reach New Markets
By: Zack Tertel

Many golf facilities gravitate toward clinics and other forms of group instruction when teaching the game to women, and attempting to create more female golfers. Making instruction more social is a time-honored way to promote the game to women, and Get Golf Ready is an ideal option.

Zack Tertel with PGA Magazine talks about two golf facilities: Broad Run Golf & Practice Facility in Bristow, VA. and Mary Hafeman Golf in Jacksonville, Fl that are using Get Golf Ready to gear toward women.

Strategic Perspectives on the Future of Golf

In 1999, the National Golf Foundation surveyed former golfers on their attitudes and perceptions of the game. Because these results do not change much over time, the report and the data in it is still valid.

When asked why they haven't played, 45% of females and 40% of males feel that golf is too expensive. Along with that, 21% of females and 13% of males feel that they have no one to learn or play with.
