A golf course in Caroline County is for sale after being open less than 10 years.
Mattaponi Springs Golf Club is shopping itself around to potential buyers.
“It is for sale. We have some interest in it,” said George Logan, a broker with Georgia-based Hilda Allen Real Estate.
Logan would not disclose the price.
He said Washington lawyer and club owner Jim Oliff “reached a point where he did not want to own a golf course.”
“He’s a very successful attorney. But as he is getting older, he would like to settle all questions/issues with his estate,” Logan said.Oliff is a former intellectual property lawyer in the Washington area. One newspaper article said he spent seven years selecting the location for and building the course.
The course was designed by Bob Lohmann and opened in 2005.
The club did not return several calls seeking comment.
