2012 Summer Jobs Commitment for Youth Announced

Last Thursday, representatives from the WE ARE GOLF coalition, including NGCOA CEO Mike Hughes, traveled to the White House for the announcement of Summer Jobs+ - an initiative to help create summer employment opportunities for youth in 2012.

Joined by the President, the Secretary of Labor Hilda Solis and other senior Administration officials, WE ARE GOLF renewed its commitment to help create pathways for  America’s young people to get the work experience they need.

"As business leaders, it is our responsibility to assist in the development of our youth as they will one day be in a position to make a difference in our businesses, our industry and our communities," says Hughes.

WE ARE GOLF was recognized by the Department of Labor for its participation in the Administration’s 2011 summer jobs initiative.

Golf course owners and other industry professional can answer the President's call-to-action by creating and filling jobs and internships at their facilities this summer.
