Event Overview
The NGCOA VA Annual Meeting brings together owners and professionals in the golf industry for a full day of education, networking and golf.
Speakers

Landscape architect, arborist, author, blogger, teacher - Richard Mandellof Pinehurst wears many hats, but he has recently distinguished himself by his leadership in creating the "Symposium on Affordable Golf" last fall. Mandell was the catalyst in assembling an all-star cast of industry professionals to delve into the challenge to make golf more affordable, and to grow the game. Now he presents his findings and engages us in his quest in this informative presentation.
As an architect, Mandell is a traditionalist who recognizes cost efficiency in his design work. Virginia projects include Army Navy Country Club, The Water's Edge and Roanoke Country Club.
As the NGCOA's director of membership, Joe Rice is responsible for NGCOA programs and services that help members operate more successful golf facilities. He is the primary liaison between more than 5,000 members and the association, its state chapters and international affiliates. He supervises member communications and manages resources to respond to legislative and regulatory actions affecting golf courses.
Prior to his role as director of membership, Rice directed the Association's marketing and communications functions, including media relations, marketing and advertising, collateral development, and on-line programs as the Chief Marketing Officer. Rice worked with the staffs of the NGCOA and GCSAA to launch and grow the Golf Industry Show, now the second-largest and fastest-growing trade show in the industry.
Journalist and television personality, Alex Miceli has been involved in golf since founding golf.com in 1993. In 2000, Miceli founded the Golf Press Association (GPA), an independent golf news service that provides golf content to newspapers, magazines and web sites and is its President & Publisher.
Since starting GPA, Miceli has written for numerous, newspapers, magazines and web sites and is currently a Senior Writer for Golfweek magazine.
Miceli was The "Stat Man" on the hit show The Approach with Callaway Golf on the Golf Channel and now provides analysis on The Golf Channel's coverage of the PGA Tour.
