Make a difference in the lives of the families of our American heroes by participating in the fifth annual Patriot Golf Day weekend, Sept. 2-5.
On Labor Day weekend, participating public golf courses nationwide will request a minimum of $1 for each green fee they process. Private facilities will solicit contributions from their members. These donations will go to the Folds of Honor Foundation, which provides educational scholarships to families of those who have become disabled or lost their lives in the line of duty.
Major Dan Rooney, a PGA professional, USGA Member and F-16 pilot in the 125th Fighter Squadron of the Oklahoma Air National Guard, founded the Folds of Honor Foundation following his second of three tours of duty in Iraq. Through events across the country since 2007, approximately $8.9 million has been raised, allowing the Folds of Honor Foundation to award 2,100 post-secondary educational scholarships. The continued support of USGA Members will help ensure that this program is able to serve more and more families of
those who have so heroically served our nation.
