Paul Michaelian, PGA (1962-2023)
Paul Michaelian, PGA, a member of the inaugural Virginia Golf Hall of Fame selection committee, died on February 14 at age 61. Michaelian served as head PGA professional at all three courses at The Country Club of Virginia before moving on in 2000 to become head PGA professional at Meadowbrook Country Club in Richmond. Three years later, he became the head PGA professional at Princess Anne Country Club in Virginia Beach, where he served for 13 years.
Michaelian held important roles within the Middle Atlantic PGA as well, serving as MAPGA president in 2003-04. He was honored with the MAPGA’s Professional of the Year Award in 2003. He served the PGA of America as a delegate for many annual meetings and on the PGA Board of Control from 2011-15.
Michaelian is survived by his wife Michele, three children and two grandchildren.
