Announcing the Facility BMP Prize Contest
Webinars 10 a.m., May 19th and June 23rd
Golf course superintendents in Virginia pride themselves on environmental stewardship. But that doesn’t stop the attacks from environmentalists who don’t know the facts on water conservation and many other measures designed to preserve natural resources by golf courses in Virginia. How can you protect your course from false claims?
As you know, last year we published the second edition of “Best Management Practices for Virginia Golf Courses” manual. It is available FREE at www.vgcsa.org.
The next step to protect your course is to develop your own personal BMP for your facility. This provides a permanent record of your efforts to protect the environment. It is a great asset to have when challenges come up.
The VGCSA is seeking to have courses statewide develop their own BMPs. A template has been developed to make the process easy. The first of two free webinars offer training on using the template is set for 10 am on May 19th. We encourage you to login to the 60–90-minute program and build your course’s own personalize BMP.
